Big Lazy

Big Lazy is a New York City instrumental trio — guitarist Stephen Ulrich, bassist Andrew Hall, and drummer Yuval Lion — whose noir-tinged sound blends twang, cinematic atmosphere, and avant-garde jazz into a style critics call "Crime Jazz." Active 25+ years in NYC's downtown scene, they've performed at MoMA and Jazz à Vienne. Their debut album appeared in NBC's Homicide: Life on the Street, and Ulrich composed 30 pieces for This American Life in 2021.
