Mambo Kings are Rochester's foremost Latin jazz ensemble, together since 1995 and led by Eastman School of Music graduate and Lima, Peru native Richard DeLaney on piano. The group blends Afro-Cuban rhythms with jazz improvisation and has performed with the Rochester Philharmonic, Baltimore Symphony, Dallas Symphony, and orchestras across North America. They were finalists in the 2003 Kennedy Center/U.S. Department of State Jazz Ambassadors competition and have released three studio albums.
