New Features: Spring Sprint

We spent this spring heads-down, shipping a wave of features to help the Finger Lakes find live music — and to help the bands and venues making it get discovered. Here's what's new.

Events

• Redesigned event pages — cleaner, richer details: who's playing, where, and exactly when (in real Finger Lakes time).
• Share to Facebook — push any show to Facebook in one tap.
• Bookmark shows — save the events you don't want to miss.
• Google Calendar sync — connect once and every bookmark drops onto your calendar automatically, with start time and venue. Already bookmarked a bunch? Connecting backfills them all. (Apple and Outlook calendar integrations are coming this summer.)
• Sign in with Google or Facebook — one-tap sign-in or sign-up to save and sync shows, no new password.
• More events, automatically — we now pull in events from Eventbrite, so the calendar's fuller — with four more ticketing-platform integrations landing this summer.
• City Pages — browse the live music, venues, and upcoming shows for each town: Ithaca, Canandaigua, Penn Yan, Watkins Glen, and more. Explore City Guides →
• Event Popularity — we use engagement (shares, bookmarks, clicks) to gauge how hot an event is. The most popular events get auto-posted to our Facebook page and promoted on the homepage, and you can filter for popular events.
• Event Highlights — events are automatically tagged with highlights like Popular, Free, New, and Festival, so it's easier to find exactly what you're after.

Festivals

• Festival Playlists — hear the lineup before you go. We generate a playlist for each upcoming Finger Lakes festival, so you can listen to the bands playing and walk in knowing who to catch.
• Full lineups with set times — festival pages now show the complete lineup with set times, and every act links straight to its band profile.

Band Promotion

• Claim your band profile — find your band on FLX Music and make it yours in a couple of minutes.
• Built for the whole band — list your members and the instruments they play, and give bandmates roles so more than one person can manage the profile and keep it current.
• Post your events — add your shows so fans can find, bookmark, and share them.
• Add your music — your songs play when you've got an upcoming Finger Lakes show, or whenever someone visits your profile.
• Local Bands — we've got a page dedicated to local Finger Lakes bands.

Venue Promotion

• Claim your venue profile — take ownership of your venue's page on FLX Music.
• Post & manage your events — keep your calendar current so fans always know what's on.
• Get discovered — your shows surface on City Pages and event pages, and fans can share them to Facebook and drop them onto their calendars.
• Get verified — a verified badge shows fans your venue is the real deal.
