Troy "Trombone Shorty" Andrews is a New Orleans brass-funk multi-instrumentalist and bandleader raised in the city's historic Tremé neighborhood, where he was leading his own brass band by age six. His sound blends New Orleans second-line traditions with funk, soul, rock, and hip-hop, performed with his band Orleans Avenue. A Grammy Award winner and six-time White House performer, he founded the Trombone Shorty Foundation to pass New Orleans musical traditions to the next generation.
