About the Artist

Hailing from upstate New York, The Bends formed when Desmond Carson (Bass, Guitar), Matthew Catucci (Drums), and Tristan Hagel (Guitar, Vocals) were joined by Griffin Brown (Guitar, Vocals, Bass) after a previous band had fizzled out. Initially beginning as a heavy garage rock group, the band began to embrace their power pop, folk, and alternative influences, namely Sloan, Pixies, and Radiohead as they started building an original catalogue. After their first studio stay at Geneva's Pink Dress Studio in 2024, the Band released their first LP, "First Band Fight!" supported by singles "Birds of Prey" and "Almost 17". As the band has developed, their stage presence has evolved from a group of awkward teenagers to a synergistic rock quartet. The Bends plan to continue performing throughout 2025, hopefully culminating in a second full-length project.
