About the Artist

The Bad Plus are a genre defying jazz group from Minneapolis formed in 2000, known for originals and bold reinterpretations of rock and pop from Nirvana to Aphex Twin. The band began as a piano trio with Ethan Iverson, Reid Anderson and Dave King, later featured Orrin Evans. In 2021 they became a quartet with Ben Monder on guitar and Chris Speed on tenor saxophone and clarinet. Recent albums include The Bad Plus and Complex Emotions. They announced 2026 as their final year.
