Tessa Souter is a London-born, New York-based jazz vocalist and lyricist of Afro-British heritage who trained with jazz legend Mark Murphy. Wayne Shorter granted her shared songwriting credit on "Ana Maria," which she recorded on her 2018 album Picture in Black and White. Her 2025 release Shadows and Silence: The Erik Satie Project sets her original jazz lyrics to Satie's Gymnopédies and Gnossiennes, with arrangements by Luis Perdomo.
