Spamalot is a Tony Award-winning musical comedy with music by John Du Prez and Eric Idle, and lyrics and a book by Eric Idle, adapted from the 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail. It delivers an irreverent parody of the Arthurian legend, following King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table on a wildly funny quest for the Holy Grail filled with absurd characters, outrageous gags, and memorable songs. The original Broadway production opened in 2005 and garnered multiple Tony nominations and wins, becoming a beloved hit in musical theatre.
