About the Artist

Makoto Ozone is a Japanese jazz pianist and composer from Kobe, renowned for virtuosic swing, lyrical touch, and genre-crossing projects that bridge jazz and classical music. A Berklee alumnus and longtime collaborator of vibraphonist Gary Burton, Ozone records prolifically as a leader and with top ensembles, tours internationally, and appears at major festivals. His work ranges from trio and solo albums to orchestral concertos and duo projects with vocalists and instrumentalists.
