About the Artist

Davina and the Vagabonds are a Twin Cities–based jazz-blues band led by vocalist/pianist Davina Sowers, blending early 20th-century blues, jazz, R&B, and Americana with high-energy, horn-driven shows. Formed in 2004, the group has toured the U.S., U.K., and Europe; albums include Black Cloud, Sunshine (Billboard Blues #13), Nicollet and Tenth, and Sugar Drops, with new music arriving on Shoot for the Moon. Critics from NPR to Rolling Stone praise Sowers’ sly, soulful delivery and the band’s retro-modern swing. Current core members include Sowers, trumpeter Zee Lozier, and drummer Connor McRae Hammergren.
