About the Artist

The Alexa Tarantino Quartet is a New York City based modern jazz group led by award-winning saxophonist artist Alexa Tarantino, a member of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis. The band mixes sharply plotted, straight-ahead writing with lyrical improvisation, featuring Tarantino on alto/soprano sax and flute alongside a rotating cast of top NYC rhythm-section players. Recent projects and residencies span Birdland and national festivals, spotlighting original compositions and refreshed standards.
