About the Artist

The Rodriguez Brothers are a Grammy-nominated Latin jazz ensemble led by NYC-born siblings Michael Rodriguez (trumpet) and Robert Rodriguez (piano). Drawing on a Miami upbringing, they fuse Afro-Cuban, Brazilian, and modern jazz into high-energy originals marked by lyrical themes, polyrhythms, and agile improvisation. Since forming in 2002, they’ve performed worldwide—from Newport and Monterey to Blue Note, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and SFJAZZ—and worked alongside luminaries including Wynton Marsalis, Quincy Jones, Roy Haynes, Charlie Haden, and Harry Connick Jr. Their acclaimed recordings, notably Impromptu (Grammy-nominated, Best Latin Jazz Album) and Conversations, showcase a signature sound that’s both rooted and forward-looking.
